The most useful tracker in Belkin's new SureFind line is the one with a charging cable braided into its strap. The Belkin SureFind Loop Cable Tag has a carry loop that doubles as a short USB-C to USB-C cable, and it recharges over that same connection, so there's no coin cell to hunt for in a drawer. Belkin says it lasts up to four months per charge.
It's one of four trackers in Belkin's first own-brand range. Until now the company made accessories for other people's trackers. All of them work with both Apple's Find My network and Google's Find Hub, which means you don't have to pick a side of the phone war before buying.
What's in the range
- Belkin SureFind Spot: the basic one. It has an integrated metal key ring and, per Belkin, up to 12 months of battery on a replaceable coin cell. US price is $14.99.
- Belkin SureFind Loop Cable Tag: the cable one above. US price is $24.99. It carries an IPX4 rating, so splashes are fine and swimming is not.
- Belkin SureFind Card: wallet-shaped, IP68-rated, and claimed to last up to three years. Its battery can't be replaced or recharged, according to Belkin's support page. US price is $26.99.
- Belkin SureFind Wallet Stand: a magnetic phone stand with card storage, RFID blocking and a tracker that can't be easily removed. US price is $39.99, and it was slated for early October. I couldn't confirm it's shipping yet.
Pricing varies a lot by region. Australian retailers list the Spot at $29.95 and the Card and Loop Cable Tag at $44.95 each. Those are local-currency prices, so don't read them as a US markup. The US numbers come from the earlier announcement.
Who should care
If your household mixes iPhones and Androids, this is the pitch that matters. One tracker type, either phone can find it. The built-in attachment hardware is a nice touch too, since you skip the separate holder most trackers need.
The Card is the one I'd think twice about. A sealed battery means a three-year tracker that you throw away after three years. That's fine for a spare wallet slot, less fine if you care about waste. The Wallet Stand makes more sense as a phone accessory with a tracker bolted on than the other way around.
My pick is the Loop Cable Tag for a bag or luggage, where a spare cable is genuinely useful and a four-month charge cycle is easy to remember. Buy the Spot if you want the cheapest option for keys. Check the pricing for your region before you order, and check that Belkin's listing matches the model you want, because the Card and Loop Cable Tag cost the same in some markets and differ in others.
